Personal Lines Assistant Manager

 

Our growth requires more help! NorthStar Insurance, one of New England’s leading independent insurance agents, is seeking an account executive to help with our growth. We are a large, vibrant, fast growing agent who is centrally located in the western suburbs of Boston convenient to major routes.

Under the direction of the Personal Lines Manager and Vice President of Operations, provide Personal Lines management support in assisting in the management of the personal lines department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the selection, training, and supervising of personal lines account managers and in the evaluation of PL performance reviews
  • Train and supervise adherence to company’s process and procedure and keep the team up to date on rate, form, and coverage changes
  • Provide assistance to the team, producers and clients in problem solving and client service
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the agency's Personal Lines marketing program
  • Keep alert to Personal Lines market conditions by continually communicating with company Personal Lines underwriters
  • Continuous professional development through seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development
  • The ability to perform all duties of the Personal Lines Account Manager position by supporting the day to day responsibilities
  • Manage a small book of business
  • Develop and run activity reports for management
  • All other duties that may apply
  

Authority:

  • Authorize Personal Lines coverage binding within authority granted by the carrier
  • Work with carriers as needed
  • Work with producers and other team members
  • Maintain client files and client communications
  • Recommend rewards, promotions, and other actions for department team members
  • Approve requisitions for supplies and equipment in the Personal Lines unit
  • Approve training and seminar attendance by the Personal Lines CSRs
 

Standards:

  • Submit required reports to management in a timely manner
  • Adhere to and comply with established agency procedures
  • Manage expenses within the department for budget compliance
  • Be responsible for degree and quality of development of personnel supervised
  • Obtain two expiration dates per week
  • Responsible for the delivery of exceptional client service for the department
